Origin of the Name
The playground takes its name from the neighbouring Kuhtor, a surviving section of Kempen's historic town fortifications. Built around 1350, the gate forms the northern entrance to the old town. The town wall also includes the Turmmühle (Tower Mill), erected in 1481. This keeps a piece of Kempen's fortification history visible right beside the play area.
