Café himmlisch

Breakfast comes in several set combinations – from the classic "himmlisch" with rolls, homemade jam, cheese, salami and fruit salad, to a vegetarian and a vegan option (with hummus, organic spreads and raw vegetables, for example), all the way to the "Genießerfrühstück für Zwei" for two with salmon, scrambled egg and tomato-mozzarella. Children can choose the "Happy Kids" breakfast or the "Räuberteller". There are also egg dishes in various styles and a breakfast bowl with yoghurt, spelt crunch, fruit and nuts.

From 11:30 the kitchen switches to the lunch menu, featuring hearty open sandwiches, sausages with potato salad, baked camembert, apple and bacon pancakes, a pizza-style flatbread snack and salad plates. Drinks include coffee made from high-quality beans, a range of teas and, on request, Oatly oat drink for vegan guests. The homemade jams, such as strawberry or forest berry, are also available from the shop shelf.

Café himmlisch sees itself as a place to take your time and be pampered. Alongside its food and drink, the café sells selected decorative and gift items – the "Schöne Dinge" that were originally used only as furnishings and became available for purchase at guests' request. The café first opened on 2 May 2012 in Tönisvorst and has been based in Kempen since August 2017.

The café is open Wednesday to Saturday from 9:30 to 16:30. Reservations can only be made by phone on 02152 8096160 and only for breakfast times during opening hours – email requests are not accepted. Card payment is possible from 10 euros; 200- and 500-euro notes as well as copper coins are not accepted.
