Design
The structure is built entirely of red brick. At its base sits a projecting stone plinth 100 cm high, topped by a projecting stone band of 20 cm in the same material.
Origins
The design and construction were carried out by architect Matthias Küsters together with artist Ferdinand Floßdorf.

The memorial is listed as a monument by the local heritage authority and recorded under reference number 127.
